Musis Video Reviews: Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, J.Lo

I've been too busy this week to update and New Videos piled up really fast! Today, I'm here to bring you a new set of reviews featuring 3 artists. So, Here they are! :D

"This is the Manifesto of Mother Monster." Even from the start of the video, you can already feel the Star Trek Vibe that's because this is a story about Aliens. The narration, done by Mother Monster herself, states that in a government-owned alien territory in space,  there was a birth of magical infinite proportions. Thus began the beginning of a new race. A race within the race of humanity, A race without Prejudice, Judgement, A race of boundless freedom. On that same day, there was another birth that was taking place. It was the birth of Evil.

Mother Monster split into two, rotating in agony between two ultimate forces. At that moment, the Pendulum of Choice began. She wondered "How can I protect something so perfect without evil?" That's when the song begins. There's not much to say about it because it is mostly just Lady Gaga performing. Although I am a Little Monster myself, I thought that it was so WEIRD. Though the choreography was okay, I just thought it was, as Joan Rivers said in the Oscar's version of Fashion Police "Artsy Fartsy without the Artsy".

I'm sorry Lady Gaga, but it was just to awkward. Well, maybe that's her point. Maybe she tried to make the Music Video Beautiful In It's Own Way. Anyways, I did like the song, but I was somehow expecting a Ballad before It came out.

I'm giving it 3.25 STARS

The American Idol judge has made time to release a Single + Music Video. This time, she has Pitbull by her side. The song is basically a cover of a familiar Moroccan tune infused with hip-hop beats and sounds. Story wise, well, It doesn't have a story. It's just J.Lo watching over her club empire and then later, she joins the chaos and dances on a small circular platform. For me, it is a good and as always, that Moroccan tune has got me in a trance. Haha! Plus, the 41 year old shakes her still rocking ass.

I give it 3.75 STARS

The dollar sign diva is back with a new single from her 2nd album, "Cannibal". As always, she does something very different; "Unicorn Wine Party". As she is telling two unicorn friends the story of how she was elected in the parliament of Uzbekistan, a waiter comes up with a platter. On it is a small piece of, what looks like, fancy cheese. The waiter then points to James Van Der Beek. They both stand up and glare at each other, walking towards the other. Cue the Intimidation. James combs his hair, Ke$ha makes out with a Unicorn, Sleeves rip and the whole jacket comes off, a little dirty dancing never hurt, Bra withdrawal from both parties and more eye intimidation.

An exchange of dialogue and it is revealed that the snack from earlier on is actually Munster Cheese. They agree to "dance" and that is when the real chaos begins. Guns Fire, Unicorns bleed Rainbows, James gets hit and Ke-dollar sign-ha steps on him. He asks for a Truce and gets his head mounted on a wall.

It might not make any sense to you, but when did Ke$ha's videos ever make any sense?

I give it 3.75 STARS!

Well, that's it for this batch of reviews. Stay tuned for the next one! :D

Music Video Review: Britney Spears

The Princess of Pop is back with her new single from her 7th Studio Album! After spending time in the "Circus", she is now asking us if we would Hold It Against her. After releasing the song last January 11, It's been a long wait for Britney fans for the music video. I will not prolong the wait anymore. Here is "Hold It Against Me" by Britney Spears.

The video is more of a dance montage that it is a story-type music video so I won't write a synopsis. There is a short intro though. It most likely means that in the video, Britney is an alien under observation. Haha! But it seems that way. There is also a part of the video where in she is surrounded by screens and she is wearing a long white dress. She rises up the cylinder of screens and her skirt starts moving. You will notice the silhouette of arms that are moving the skirt of the dress. She also does a lot of advertisements that are out of place in the video (i.e. She's dancing then she sprays perfume on her neck.)

Aside from the video fails, it's FABULOUS! Or maybe I just got blinded by the fact it's F**KIN' BRITNEY SPEARS! I give it 4.5 STARS. :D

Music Video Review: P!nk's Very Controversial Video "F**kin' Perfect"

I recently heard this on the radio and looked it up on youtube. I found the video and now I'm telling you what I think. Before you watch the video, I caution you because I'm posting the uncensored version because I really do NOT believe in censorship for I am a very straight forward person. Here it is. P!nk's Very Controversial Video "F**kin' Perfect".

In the beginning, the lead character is having sex with a guy and for a moment, she looks to the left and sees a bear that had a big impact on her life. She flashes back to a time when she was in preschool. She, as a little girl, was eating lunch when one of her school mates grabs her bear and throws it. She sits on the boy's back and grabs his hair. The teacher sees her and she gets scolded.

Forward in time and the girl watches from her window as a kid's birthday party is taking place next door. Obviously, she is not invited and she feels sad. One of the kids at the party looks up and sees her and she hides. She, then, looks at herself in the mirror.

A little more forward in time and she is now a teenager. Her mother sees her and scolds her for dressing "improperly". She gets dragged to her room and her mother forces her to change. In school, she recieves an F as a result on a quiz. Not seeming to care that she got a bad grade, she doodles on the F to disguise it as a mock drawing of a lady, probably her teacher. She vandalizes a bathroom stall as she peeks at the more "beautiful" girls at her school. The video reveals that she etched the words "Skinny Bitches" on the wall.

She is now in a clothing boutique and she looks jealously as some girl tries on a blue dress. She takes one of the same dresses from the rack and her bag and hides in the employees' lounge. She stuffs the dress in her bag and as she walks out of the room, she is caught. She is, then, dragged out of the store.

At her own house, she weighs herself in the bathroom. She is provoked by her weight and grabs a blade. She sits in the tub as she slashes her wrists. Bloody water, blade drops to the floor and the word "Perfect" is slashed on her arm. She sees the bear and realizes what she's done to herself. She gets up and cuts her hair short. She paints a picture and time moves forward again.

She is now at an exhibit as one of the painters. P!nk raises a glass to her and she nods. She sees the guy and we are back to the present. She gets up from the bed and takes the bear. She puts it beside her daughter and mouths "You are perfect to me."

In my opinion, The video is meant to be an awakening. An awakening for the popular kids in school, showing them that what they are doing can have a big impact to the less popular kids. An awakening for the teens that vomit to make themselves skinny, showing them that they can be perfect in their own way without doing that. An awakening for those that slash their wrists, showing them that life doesn't have to end there, that it can go on wonderfully. An awakening for the whole world to see how hard life is for this generation.

The song is very meaningful. The video, although controversial, is beautiful. That is why I can easily rate it as 5 STARS.

Here is an article from Metro Lyrics on P!nk defending the video for her new single.

Singer Pink has defended her controversial new video for single F****n' Perfect and said it was meant to stir things up. The new video shows a sex scene as well as a girl slashing her wrists while in a bath. However the star took to her website to defend the scenes and admitted that it does reflect some unhappier times in her own life. She said: "I'm sure my newest video will be much like some of my others, which basically means I expect it will ruffle some feathers. "My favourite books, art pieces, films, and music, always have something jarring about them. I want art to make me think. In order to do that, it may p**s me off, or make me uncomfortable. "That promotes awareness and change, or at least some discussion. That is my intention. You can't move mountains by whispering at them."...

Nicki Minaj's Next Video Will Be Fly Feat. Rihanna

According to Metro Lyrics, Nicki said to Daily Star, a UK newspaper, that she is really inspired by Rihanna. Here is the full article:

Rap queen Nicki Minaj has revealed she is inspired by singer Rihanna and admitted she looks up to her. The 26-year-old recently came to the UK where she was mobbed by fans as she promotes her new album Pink Friday, which Rihanna features on. Minaj said to UK newspaper Daily Star: "Rihanna really inspires me. She's one of the few young artists that I look up to and that I admire. "She's gone through a lot in the public eye and she came back more badass than before, so I was like YES! We have shot a video for the song Fly and it's my best video to date - it's basically a movie. "I'm on Raining Men on her album so hopefully we'll do a video for that too and it'll do well."...

Music Video Reviews: Nicki Minaj, Jessie J

It's been a few weeks since I last posted on this blog. Now that I'm back, I'm bringing you a new set of reviews! :D

Nicki Minaj feat. Drake - Moment 4 Life
"In this very moment I'm king, In this very moment I slayed Goliath with a sling" You might think that that line will come out of Drake's mouth but it doesn't. It actually comes from Nicki's. In this video, she is indeed a King. That might sound weird but it makes sense since kings are technically more powerful than queens.

The music video starts of with a paragraph from a book which says
Once upon a time, there lived a king named Nicki. One day, while sitting on her throne, she received an enchanting visit from her fairy Godmother. She would remember that moment for life.
Nicki is then showed in a room, in front of a mirror getting ready for a party. Her Godmother, also played by her, appears near the bed and they exchange dialogues. The volume on that part is a little low and you may not be able to understand the Godmother through her British accent. There is also this weird part where the Godmother goes "IT'S MARTHA! BZZZZ!". I have recieved word it was to mock one of Nicki's Haters. Nicki replies with a laugh, a line that goes "You are crazy Godmother! I love you!" and a "Bitch" through gritted teeth. Now that part, I LOVED! :D

The Party Scene this time. Drake walks in to a room overlooking the floor below it. Drake sees Nicki walk in. Nicki sees Drake and BOOM! Love at first sight. They flirt on a couch behind a table full of chocolates. Godmother does her magic, Drake and Nicki get married, Fireworks, Clock strikes 12 and that was Nicki's "Moment 4 Life".

I rate it 3.5 STARS. I dunno, it was sort of lack luster for me. 2 raps and a chorus that is made up of 2 lines? But the video was good story wise. :D

Jessie J feat. B.o.B.
Now, this next one is more of a montage of Jessie dancing with HUMONGOUS toys, dancing as a toy. Song wise, it's beautiful, inspiring, and just...wow! "It's not about the money, money, money. We don't need your money, money, money. We just wanna make the world dance. Forget about the price tag." I couldn't have wrote a better chorus. It's perfect for a time like this, where people are doing everything they can, selling their things, their body parts, even their bodies just to get a glimpse at that "chaching, chaching".

All in all, I give it 4 STARS since the video lacks story wise.

That's it for this batch of reviews. Watch the Videos and tell me what you think. :D

Music Video Reviews: Nicki Minaj, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna

Here's my first set of Music Video Reviews! :D

will.i.am & Nicki Minaj - Check It Out

This video is EPIC! This got me lovin' Nicki! Her facial expressions and robot moves made this video so fun to watch, not to mention the LSS inducing chorus and awesome rap. Da-Dun-Dun! Plus, Nicki's ass was huge in that Power Ranger costume. The flying Korean words also made me like the video more. What can I say? I'm biased. I guess I didn't care about will.i.am treating him self like a cyborg and a drawing were okay too but I think the main attraction of the video really was Nicki. She got the better lyrics. 5 STARS! :D

Avril Lavigne - What the Hell
AVRIL LAVIGNE IS BACK! The video screamed RED, well, painting the town red anyways. The beggining shows Avril waking up in what looks like an apartment. Her video boyfriend is beside her and he toys with him a little bit before getting ready. She gets out of the apartment and steals cars, plays with  some dudes at a court, plays tag and dress-up at a clothing store and parties at a club. At the end of the day, she's back home, in bed, with her boyfriend

The song just shouts FREEDOM, playing around, throwing your cares away and just being yourself. "All my life I've been good but now I'm thinking WHAT THE HELL?"

All in all, I rate it 4 stars because it was sorta missing that Avril factor somehow.

Rihanna - S&M
"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me." Talk about a whole new take on the metaphor. :P Riri's new single from her "Loud" album is out and it shows a new side to the "Only Girl (In The World)" but she is still rocking that red hair.

In the beggining of the video, she is dragged into a room filled with press people with balls in their mouths, then she is bound to a wall via plastic bag. Then, she is shown holding a leash with a man on the other end. She is dressed like those Cruella DeVille-esque old school Mistresses, complete with a cigarette with a really long filter. The next scene shows the true meaning of S&M, which is "Sadism & Masochism" meaning sex with the use of bondage. There is also a Rihanna in pink rubber lingerie with pink popcorn in that scene.

There is also a scene were she is dancing with headlines flying around and it is rumored to have the words "Princess Of The Illuminati" along with the headlines. Rihanna really is a "Good Girl Gone Bad".

Some say it's like something Lady Gaga would do but I really don't see it. It sorta looks a little like Katy Perry because of the uber use of colors but aside from that It looks totally new. An Original brain child of the Barbados born singer.

3.5 Stars! The song is good but the video is sorta creepy. It's cool though. :D

That's it for this batch of reviews. Watch the Videos and tell me what you think. :D

Annyeong Blogger!

Hello Everyone! :D
I guess I should start talking about me, shouldn't I? Well, I'm not really good at that but, here it goes...

I'm 13, turning 14 soon. I'm studying at Marist High School, 2nd Year High School but the year is about to end soon. Hmm, What else?

Well, I like music, colors, photos, food, movies, someone special. My iPod is broken right now, no time to get it fixed so I'm feeding my ears through iTunes, Youtube and my already owned physical copies of albums (they're more than 20, I think). I also really REALLY REALLY love to Photoshop! I can say that I'm good but not as good as the pros, but I'm hoping to be. :P

I can't think of anything else to talk about so I'll just be updating you on that later on. Now, onto reviews! :D
